Coastal and recreational rowing – sculling boats

The following shows the range of boats we use here at the Coastal Rowing Centre, Knoll Beach, Studland.

These recreational rowing boats and coastal rowing boats, sometimes called coastal sculling boats, are well designed; they are light and stable making them easy to handle and easy to row.

Coastal Rowing Centre Ltd has a range of used recreational and coastal rowing boats suitable for rivers, lakes, and coastal waters. The range includes singles and doubles.

At the Coastal Rowing Centre we have the LiteSport 1X, Duo and LiteRace 1X and 2X available for rowing lessons, training outings and touring.

SINGLE – ROWING, SCULLING BOATS

LiteSport 1X – recreational rowing boat

The LiteSport 1X is a great recreational rowing boat whether you are new to rowing or experienced. At 5m long, 0.75m wide and circa 27kg, it is reasonably easy to handle. Take off the quick release rigger and it is 3kg lighter and easier to carry.

The LiteSport 1X is a boat-for-all-seasons; enabling you to row throughout the year on lakes, rivers and the sea.

LiteRace 1X – Competition coastal rowing boats

The LiteRace 1X is a FISA approved coastal rowing boat used in the British and World offshore championships.

It is a great boat to row in both calm and choppy conditions, whether you are competing or just ‘going for a row’. Being 6m long and 35Kg, it is more suited to those with some rowing experience.

 

DOUBLE – ROWING BOATS

Lite DUO – river and coastal double rowing boat

The Duo is an excellent double rowing boat for rivers, estuaries and the coast.

It is 6.5m long, 0.8m wide, weighs just 43Kg so is ideal to put on the car and head off to the water.

An ideal recreational and training club boat; if you plan rowing in choppy waters, have a self bailer fitted.

LiteRace 2X – Competition coastal double rowing boat

This double is an excellent coastal rowing boat used in national and international championships..

It is 7.5m long, 1m wide, weighs 60Kg with riggers complying with all FISA standards.

This boat is fantastic to row.
