Hire a coastal rowing boat

Hire our leisure and FISA competition boats.

Hire a coastal rowing boat and enjoy rowing at the Coastal Rowing Centre. We have a range of leisure and competition coastal rowing boats for hire. If you want to try coastal rowing for the first time, row occasionally or on a regular basis, train for a event; we have a range of options for you to consider – see below.

This Autumn we are also going to a number of events in the South West and Wales with a trailer full of LiteRace 1X and 2X FISA boats. All you have to do is book in advance and turn up ready to race.

For all sessions and events booking is essential. It is also an opportunity for us to advise on suitable clothing and footwear, make you aware of sea and weather conditions and provide information on safety.

To book email bob@coastalrowing.co.uk or call 01305 257 774

All training sessions are ‘accompanied’ for your safety. We will provide you with a buoyancy aid.  Though we would like to cater for people of all ages, at present due to safety considerations we are unable to cater for those under 14 years old. If you are under 18 years of age you must be accompanied by an adult.

Due to changing weather and sea conditions it may be necessary to change dates and times at short notice.

For more information email bob@coastalrowing.co.uk or call 01305 257 774 – please leave a message if no answer, we may well be on the water; we will get back to you.

Row for Life – Taster Session

£36 per person for 1½ hours. Available all year. Please contact us regarding dates and times. Booking essential.

This session is for one or two people only. Suitable for beginners and those returning to rowing after some time off-the-water. The session starts with a land-based briefing in which we explain the basics of coastal rowing, show you the features of the boats and give you a safety briefing. You will then receive rowing tuition on-the-water before returning to the beach for a debrief.

Row for Life – “Get involved” group session

£24 per person for 2 hours to ‘get involved’. Available all year. Please contact us regarding dates and times (normally mornings). Booking essential.

“Get involved” is for those wanting to join a small group of existing customers who have some rowing experience and want to get more involved in coastal rowing. As well as receiving on-the-water ‘light-touch’ tuition, you will ‘get involved’ with unloading and rigging the boats beforehand and washing down the boats and kit afterwards. It’s a sociable way to spend a morning.

Row for Life – special requests

If you have any special requests gives us a call.

For example, you may want to:
– train on the sea for an ocean rowing races
– arrange an open demo day at your club
– freshen up your river rowing crews with some open water rowing.

Supporting Coastal Rowing Events

Compete in a LiteRace 1X or LiteRace 2X

Row for Life will be taking a number of FISA coastal rowing Liteboats to the following events, so rather than having to trailer or car-top your own boat, we will be taking ours their for you to use. If you want to try one of our Liteboats in a racing situation, this is a great opportunity.

Row for Life wants to support these events, to make them as accessible as possible to individuals and scullers from other coastal and river clubs.

The cost to hire a boat for each race is as follows: £24 per LiteRace 1X (solo), £36 per LiteRace 2X (double).

You will need to book in advance if you want us to allocate a boat to you. You can hire on the day, if boats are still available.

Race fees are in addition, payment in line with race organiser’s rules.

To book or for more information email bob@coastalrowing.co.uk or call 01305 257 774
